As Trump prepares for the White House, Britain’s Foreign Secretary may regret comments he has made about the president-elect in the recent past.
In December 2015, Boris Johnson – then London Mayor – denied claims by Donald Trump that London had no-go zones. Johnson also said he would avoid parts of New York where there was a “risk of meeting Donald Trump”. On the subject of Trump’s forthcoming visit to the UK, he said he wouldn’t want Londoners exposed to the “unnecessary risk” of meeting Trump.
Johnson has also accused Trump of “unfit to hold the office of president” over his promise to halt Muslim immigration.
