The Prime Minister has come under fire following his revelation that he sold shares in his father’s offshore fund in January 2010.
Jeremy Corbyn blasted the Prime Minister for his “economic incompetence”, arguing that “if he had waited for the recovery before selling his shares he would have got a lot more than a measly £31,500. The Prime Minister should have held on to and diversified his portfolio.”
The Labour leader claimed that “this is more proof if any were needed that the Tories can’t be trusted with our economy.”
Asked whether Labour could be trusted with the economy, the Labour leader replied, “Yes, absolutely. Labour offers a serious short term economic plan – and that’s why it’s more likely to work.”
The Prime Minister hit back at Corbyn:“At least I wear a proper suit, do up my tie, and can sing the Panama national anthem.”
